Norwegian Prima Webcam – Forward Camera on the Class Leader

Stream hours: Norwegian Cruise Line puts a new image from the ship online about every 5 minutes, and the player loads each one by itself. After dark the picture is mostly black beyond the lit bow.

Informazioni su questa webcam
The Norwegian Prima Webcam is a forward ship camera on Norwegian Prima, the first ship of Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima class. It looks down from high above the bow onto a blue-painted foredeck ringed by a curved white rail with a row of deck lamps, with the mast and equipment base at the center, then out to the water ahead. NCL publishes the camera as a still image, with the ship’s name, the date and the time in a black band along the top. The scene changes with the voyage: open water and horizon at sea, and piers, city waterfronts, terminals and other ships in port. After dark the rail lamps pick out the bow in grainy black and white, with reflections from inside the ship across the frame.
About Norwegian Prima
Norwegian Prima is the first ship NCL ordered from Fincantieri after many years with Meyer Werft. The order for the class was placed on February 16, 2017, and the ship was built at Marghera, near Venice. She was launched on August 13, 2021, and delivered on July 29, 2022. She entered service the following month, and the singer Katy Perry christened her on August 27, 2022.
She measures 143,535 GT and 294 meters (965 feet), and she stands 69.3 meters (227 feet) tall. NCL lists 3,099 passengers at double occupancy and a crew of 1,506. She is registered at Nassau and flies the flag of the Bahamas. Six ships are planned in the wider Prima family, with Norwegian Viva, Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna already in service.

What Can You See on the Norwegian Prima Webcam?
The Norwegian Prima Webcam sits to one side of the centerline, so the bow appears in the lower left of the frame, and the white rail sweeps diagonally down toward the bottom right with its line of lamps along the way. The blue deck makes the ship easy to tell apart from older NCL vessels with their tan or grey decks. The mast rises near the point of the bow. In port, the frame can fill entirely with what lies alongside: an archived view from October 2022 shows a pier building, a road full of cars and city towers behind it. At sea the same space is water and sky. At night, the picture goes black and white, and pale curtains from inside the ship reflect in the glass over the right half of the image.
What the Prima Class Changed
The Prima class was developed from a Fincantieri prototype, with a design focused on energy efficiency, including lower fuel consumption at sea. It also moved NCL’s newbuilding from Meyer Werft in Germany to Fincantieri in Italy, after Norwegian Encore closed the Meyer Werft series in 2019. Norwegian Prima carries the Speedway race track, a feature that Norwegian Viva shares and that Norwegian Aqua gave up in favor of the Aqua Slidecoaster.
From the bow camera, the difference shows mainly in the color of the deck and the sharply curved rail, which set her apart from the Breakaway and Jewel class ships elsewhere in the fleet.
