The Beurs van Berlage is a historic building located on Damrak street in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in the heart of the city, near the central train station and Dam Square. Conceived by the Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage, its construction was completed in 1903.
Originally designated as the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, functioning as a trading floor for commodities such as grain, butter, and sugar. Berlage designed the building in the architectural style known as the Amsterdam School, characterized by its use of brick, expressive detailing, and a focus on functionalism.
Today, the building serves a different purpose. It has been repurposed as a multifunctional venue that hosts various events, including conferences, concerts, exhibitions and cultural activities. The building’s interior has been adapted to accommodate modern functions while preserving its historical character.
