Live webcam from the Chicago and North Western Railway Power House, a historic power house which served the 1911 Chicago and North Western Terminal in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The power house stopped serving the station in the 1960s. However, when the original terminal was demolished and replaced by the Ogilvie Transportation Center in 1984, the power house managed to endure. It stands as one of the two surviving railroad power houses in Chicago and is the sole remaining power house associated with the Chicago and North Western Railway.

What is the weather in Chicago right now?

The readout beside the camera gives the local time, the temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit, the sky condition, humidity, wind speed and the sunrise and sunset times. Chicago runs on Central time. For lake-effect conditions, watch the water in the picture as well as the numbers.

What does the Chicago webcam show?

Four cameras sit on this page. The main Skydeck view looks down over the Loop skyscrapers and out across Lake Michigan, which is the one to use for weather. The three other tabs are railway cameras at the historic Chicago and North Western Railway power house.

Is the Chicago camera live at night?

Yes, the stream runs around the clock. After dark the Loop reads as a field of lit windows rather than a clear sky view, so it is less useful for judging cloud, though you can still see rain on the lens and snow in the floodlights.
