Leavenworth is a small city in the state of Washington, located in the central part of the state about 2 hours east of Seattle. It is known for its Bavarian-themed architecture and is a popular tourist destination. The city was founded in 1906 and was originally a logging town, but in the 1960s, the town’s residents decided to transform it into a Bavarian-themed village in order to attract more tourists. Today, Leavenworth is home to many events and festivals that celebrate Bavarian culture, such as Oktoberfest and Christmas Lighting Festival.
