About Artania
Artania is a Phoenix Reisen cruise ship with a long history. The vessel entered service in 1984 as Royal Princess and was originally built for the British cruise market. She later sailed as Artemis before taking the name Artania in 2011 and joining Phoenix Reisen’s cruise program.
The ship measures about 231 m (758 ft) long and 29 m (95 ft) wide, with a gross tonnage of approximately 44,500 GT. Phoenix Reisen lists capacity for up to 1,200 passengers and a crew of around 510. Artania has nine passenger decks and 600 outside cabins, many of them with private balconies. Unlike many larger modern cruise ships, every passenger cabin faces outside.
