About this webcam
The Costa Toscana Webcam shows two cameras on board the flagship of Costa Cruises, one looking down over the bow and one over an outdoor terrace at the aft end of the ship. Costa Toscana is an Excellence-class ship, 337 meters (1,106 feet) long, built by Meyer Turku in Finland and powered by liquefied natural gas. Because the cameras travel with her, what lies beyond the rail changes with every day of a cruise. At sea the bow camera can look out across open water to the horizon. In port the frames can fill with harbor water, quays, cranes and neighboring ships, and the light moves from hard midday glare to the low sun of early evening. The images are stills rather than video.
About Costa Toscana
Costa Toscana is a sister of Costa Smeralda, the Excellence-class ship that joined the fleet in 2019. Costa ordered her on December 16, 2015, and Meyer Turku built her as yard number 1395 at its shipyard in Turku, Finland. She floated out on January 15, 2021, and the yard handed her over on December 2, 2021. Her first cruise, a week in the Western Mediterranean, left Savona on March 5, 2022.
She flies the Italian flag and is registered in Genoa. Her gross tonnage is 186,364 GT, she measures 42 meters (138 feet) across the beam, draws 9 meters (30 feet) and stacks 20 decks. At delivery, Meyer Turku put her capacity at 6,730 passengers in more than 2,600 cabins, and Costa lists 1,550 of those cabins with balconies. A crew of 1,645 runs the ship, which Costa describes as its new flagship.

What Can You See on the Costa Toscana Webcam?
The bow camera sits high above the front of the ship and looks down the white foredeck to a slim mast at its tip. Just behind the point, a sunken deck area holds rows of sun loungers, and everything past the rail is water. Out at sea that means open water and the horizon, with the color of the sea following the sky. Near land, coastlines, harbor entrances and other ships can come into view ahead of the bow.
The aft camera looks down on an outdoor terrace laid out with white parasols, tables and chairs beside a long glazed roof. When the ship is alongside, a strip of quay and harbor water can show at the edge of the frame. Both frames on the Costa Toscana Webcam carry the ship’s code, TO, and the date in their top corner.
LNG Power and a Tuscan Design
Costa Toscana runs on liquefied natural gas. Four MaK 16M46DF dual-fuel engines supply her power, and her service speed is 22 knots (41 km/h / 25 mph). Meyer Turku listed desalination systems for her water needs and an intelligent energy efficiency system among the technologies meant to cut her environmental impact.
Toscana is the Italian name for Tuscany, and the interiors follow the region. Designer Adam D. Tihany led the creative project behind them, and the builder singled out a cabin category called the terrace over the sea, which gives each cabin its own outdoor space.
