Star Princess is the second Sphere Class ship in the Princess Cruises fleet and the sister ship of Sun Princess. Built by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone shipyard in Italy, the vessel was delivered to Princess Cruises in September 2025 and welcomed its first guests on October 4, 2025.
The ship has a gross tonnage of 177,800 GT and measures 345.3 m (1,133 ft) in length. Its breadth is 42.4 m (139 ft), and Princess lists capacity at 4,300 guests in lower berths, supported by a crew of approximately 1,600. There are 21 decks and 2,157 guest staterooms.
Star Princess is powered by dual-fuel technology designed to operate primarily on liquefied natural gas. It is the second LNG-powered vessel in the Princess fleet. Among the defining elements of the Sphere Class are The Dome, a glass-enclosed structure high on the ship, and The Sphere, the outward-facing glass structure surrounding the central Piazza.

Star Princess followed Sun Princess as the second vessel built on Princess Cruises’ Sphere Class platform. The ships are significantly larger than earlier generations in the Princess fleet and were designed with extensive glass areas and outward-facing public spaces.
The ship’s propulsion arrangement includes two Azipod units capable of providing thrust through 360 degrees, together with four controllable-pitch bow thrusters for maneuvering. Princess lists the vessel’s maximum speed at 22 knots (41 km/h / 25 mph).
