The Caberfae Peaks Webcam streams four live views from Caberfae Peaks Ski and Golf Resort in the wooded hills west of Cadillac, Michigan. The main camera sits at the bottom of the East Peak triple chair and looks straight up the lift line, past the domed cover of the bottom terminal, a small gray lift shack and a row of snow guns on posts along the right side of the trail. The tabs switch to the foot of North Peak, where two chairlifts climb side by side, to a lookout high on South Peak, and to Arlo’s Deck. In winter the runs are white and the chairs carry skiers uphill. About Caberfae Peaks

Caberfae Peaks opened in January 1937, which makes it one of the oldest ski areas in the United States. It closed after the 1942 to 1943 season during the Second World War and reopened afterward, and by the mid-1950s it was Michigan’s largest winter sports area. Snowmaking arrived in 1957. The resort ran as a non-profit until 1967, when it was sold to a private company. New owners from 1980 opened South Peak in 1983, and the North Peak expansion was finished in 1992, which took the vertical drop to 131 meters (429 feet).

The three peaks, East, North and South, now hold about 91 hectares (225 acres) of skiable terrain, with a longest run of about 1,210 meters (3,960 feet). Four chairlifts and one surface lift serve them, and the resort’s snow report tracks 27 runs. On a clear afternoon the sun sinks into the top of the frame, so it faces roughly west. Arlo’s Deck changes its framing with the season. In winter it has looked down on the deck itself, with picnic tables, patio heaters, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and string lights over the snow. In October 2026 it pointed over a roofline at a three-story lodge with balconies, a fenced outdoor pool, parked golf carts, a putting green and the access road with its parking lot.

Weather and Climate at Caberfae Peaks

NOAA’s 1991 to 2020 normals for Cadillac give a fair picture of the resort’s climate. January is the coldest month, with average highs around -3°C (27°F) and lows near -11°C (12°F). Cadillac averages about 210 centimeters (81 inches) of snow a year, and snowfall at the resort is higher, at about 320 centimeters (125 inches). That is when the East Peak frame turns white and the chairs fill with skiers. The snow guns on the right of the main view fill the gaps between storms, as snowmaking has done here since 1957.

Spring comes late this far north. April averages highs of 12°C (53°F) and lows of -1°C (31°F), and the trails melt back to grass. July is the warmest month, with highs near 27°C (80°F) and lows around 14°C (58°F), when the runs read as green lanes cut through the woods. October cools to highs of 14°C (56°F) and lows of 3°C (37°F), and the leaves around the lifts turn color, as the North Peak and South Peak cameras showed in early October 2026.

On the resort grounds, the Mackenzie Lodge stands at the base of the slopes next to the golf course. It has 42 rooms with ski-in and ski-out access, a heated outdoor pool, a hot tub and a fire pit. The golf course beside it first opened in 1995.

Cadillac itself has two large lakes. Lake Cadillac covers about 465 hectares (1,150 acres) inside the city limits, and Lake Mitchell, about 1,044 hectares (2,580 acres), lies partly within them. Mitchell State Park is in town as well. White Pine Trail State Park, a trail 148 kilometers (92 miles) long, has its northern end in Cadillac, and the Manistee National Forest is close by.
