Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome): This iconic structure, formerly the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, is one of the few buildings near the hypocenter that remained partially standing after the atomic blast.
Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims: The cenotaph is an arch-shaped monument that holds the names of all known victims of the atomic bombing.
Children’s Peace Monument: This monument is dedicated to Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who developed leukemia as a result of the atomic bombing. It represents the hope for a peaceful future and is surrounded by thousands of paper cranes, a symbol of peace in Japanese culture.
Flame of Peace: The Flame of Peace, located near the cenotaph, has been burning continuously since it was lit in 1964. It will remain lit until all nuclear weapons are eliminated worldwide.
