About this webcam

The Sheboygan Webcam looks down over Harbor Centre Marina on the Lake Michigan shore of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where rows of floating docks hold motor cruisers and a few tall-masted sailboats. Open lake water spreads off to the left behind a low stone breakwater, and the far side of the harbor lines up behind the masts, including a large towered building that appears to be Blue Harbor Resort. Two more cameras from Visit Sheboygan sit in the tabs above the player: one runs along the rock breakwater toward the red Sheboygan Breakwater Lighthouse, and one looks over the Blue Harbor lawn to the beach and the lake. Between them they show how full the slips are, how calm or rough the lake is, and whether the beach weather is worth the drive.

About Sheboygan

Sheboygan sits at the mouth of the Sheboygan River on the western shore of Lake Michigan, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Milwaukee and 103 kilometers (64 miles) south of Green Bay. The city had 49,929 residents at the 2020 census and was incorporated on March 19, 1853. Locals know it as the Bratwurst Capital of the World and the Malibu of the Midwest, the second a nod to its standing as a freshwater surfing destination. From 1988 to 2012 the city hosted the Dairyland Surf Classic, billed as the largest lake surfing competition in the world.

The main Sheboygan Webcam covers Harbor Centre Marina at 821 Broughton Drive, on the north side of the river mouth beside Deland Park. The marina has 281 slips, 40 of them for transient boaters, in lengths of 30 to 45 feet (9 to 14 meters), and it was among the 26 marinas certified as a Wisconsin Clean Marina in 2025. A deck with picnic tables and grills fills the lower right of the frame beside a wooden boardwalk, and a dark roof beam close to the lens cuts across the top right corner.

The beach tab is what Visit Sheboygan calls its view of North Beach and water conditions. Its current angle follows a long rock breakwater out to the Sheboygan Breakwater Lighthouse, a red tower built in 1915 that stands 17 meters (55 feet) tall on the north breakwall off Deland Park, with open lake to the left and sheltered water crossed by a line of buoys to the right. The third tab looks over the lawn of Blue Harbor Resort, where white Adirondack chairs ring a fire pit, past dune grass to the sand and the lighthouse pier. The resort opened on June 9, 2004 on the C. Reiss Coal Peninsula, a site once used for coal storage, and now has 243 rooms and Breaker Bay, a 3,530 square meter (38,000 square foot) indoor water park.

Weather and Climate in Sheboygan

Sheboygan has a humid continental climate, with Lake Michigan setting much of the mood on any given day. January is the coldest month, averaging a high of 30 F (-1 C) and a low of 15 F (-10 C). The slips that fill up in summer usually empty out before winter, and snow and ice can build up on the docks and the breakwater rocks. July brings average highs of about 82 F (28 C) and lows near 63 F (17 C), when the marina is typically at its fullest and the Blue Harbor lawn and beach see the most people.

Spring and autumn are the changeable seasons. Wind off the lake can send waves against the breakwater, which makes the beach tab of the Sheboygan Webcam a handy water conditions check for surfers and anglers, and fog or low cloud can flatten the view on cooler days. On October 1, 2026 the marina still had plenty of boats in their slips under a grey sky.

Things to Do Near Sheboygan

Deland Park, right beside the marina, is the city’s flagship beach, with a nautical-themed boat playground on the sand, volleyball courts, pavilions, a boat launch and a walking trail. From the park you can walk the stone and concrete breakwater out toward the lighthouse. Across the river, the South Pier District around Blue Harbor Resort has a boardwalk lined with shops and restaurants, and the riverwalk follows the last stretch of the 130 kilometer (81 mile) Sheboygan River. Near the mouth, original and recreated fishing shanties house coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques, and charter fishing businesses on the riverfront run trips onto Lake Michigan for trout and salmon.

Kohler-Andrae State Park lies about 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) from Blue Harbor Resort and covers 988 acres (400 hectares), with more than 3 kilometers (2 miles) of sandy beach and dunes, plus marshes and tall pines. In town, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum and the historic Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts are good stops on a day when the lake looks too grey for the beach.

Where is Sheboygan located?

Sheboygan is in eastern Wisconsin, on the western shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Sheboygan River, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Milwaukee. The main camera sits at Harbor Centre Marina beside Deland Park.

What can you see on the Sheboygan Webcam?

The main view covers Harbor Centre Marina, with boats in their slips, a stone breakwater and open lake on the left. The tabs add a view along the north breakwater to the red Sheboygan Breakwater Lighthouse and a view from Blue Harbor Resort across its lawn and beach to the lake.

What is the weather like in Sheboygan?

January averages a high of 30 F (-1 C) and a low of 15 F (-10 C), while July highs run around 82 F (28 C). Wind, waves and low cloud off Lake Michigan can change the camera views quickly.

Can you walk out to the Sheboygan Breakwater Lighthouse?

Yes. The 1915 lighthouse stands on the north breakwall off Deland Park, and a stone and concrete breakwater leads out to it. Wet rock and waves make any breakwater risky in rough weather, so the beach camera is a useful check first.

How many boat slips does Harbor Centre Marina have?

Why is Sheboygan called the Malibu of the Midwest?

The nickname reflects its reputation for freshwater surfing on Lake Michigan. Sheboygan hosted the Dairyland Surf Classic from 1988 to 2012, and Visit Sheboygan lists a surf report beside its webcams.
