Chobe National Park, Botswana

Live webcam from Chobe National Park, located in northern Botswana near the borders with Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The park spans approximately 11,700 square kilometers (4517 square miles) and is divided into four main areas: the Chobe Riverfront, known for its high concentration of elephants and easy accessibility; the Savuti Marsh, famous for its predators like lions and hyenas, and large herds of buffalo; the remote Linyanti Marsh, noted for its diverse wildlife and birdlife along the Linyanti River; and the lesser-known Nogatsaa and Tchinga, featuring seasonal waterholes and mixed woodlands.

Chobe is particularly famous for its large elephant population, estimated at around 50,000, and also hosts big cats, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. With over 450 bird species, it is a paradise for bird watchers. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, boat safaris, bird watching, and photographic safaris.

The best time to visit is during the dry season (May to October) when wildlife congregates around water sources, though the wet season (November to April) offers excellent bird watching and sightings of newborn animals.
