Falcon Nest, Orange, NSW, Australia

Live webcam showing the falcon nest, part of a research project conducted by Charles Sturt University in Orange, New South Wales, Australia.

It focuses on studying the diet and behavior of a peregrine falcon family living in a water tower since 2007. The webcam operates year-round, offering continuous insights. The latest season saw the hatching of a male chick named Yurruga on October 8th, who unfortunately did not survive the harsh weather after fledging on November 22nd.

The falcons, Diamond (female) and Xavier (smaller male), have been using the tower since 2007, with a breeding history of twelve years and an average of 1.5 successful fledglings per season.
