The Blue Mountain PA Webcam looks out from the top of Blue Mountain Resort near Palmerton, Pennsylvania, across the deck of the Slopeside Pub and Grill and down the ski trails to wooded hills, farm fields and a long ridge on the horizon. Five more of the resort’s cameras sit in the tabs: a trail beside a chairlift line, a second lift with its chairs on the cable, the bottom of the mountain, the Summit Adventure Park and the snow tubing area. In winter the trails turn white under the snow guns and stay lit for night skiing. From spring to fall the same slopes are grass, the lifts run for scenic rides and mountain bikers, and in October the woods on either side turn orange and red.
Blue Mountain Resort sits on Blue Mountain in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. The town of Palmerton lies about 8 kilometers (5 miles) to the west, and Allentown is about 24 kilometers (15 miles) to the south. The vertical drop of 330 meters (1,082 feet) is the largest of any ski resort in the state, and the longest run measures about 1,950 meters (6,400 feet).
Ray Tuthill opened the hill in 1977 as Little Gap Ski Area and re-established it as Blue Mountain in 1989. Snowmaking covers every trail and every trail is lit for night skiing, and lift tickets come as an 8-hour pass, a morning or afternoon 4-hour pass, or a night ticket. In 2018 the resort worked with the United States Luge Association to build a natural luge track for testing new athletes, and Visit Pennsylvania lists it as the only natural luge track on the East Coast.
Each camera carries the resort’s own name for its view. Slopeside, the main player, looks over the restaurant terrace at the top of the trails, where umbrellas, fire pits and picnic tables line the deck. Main Street looks up a trail beside a chairlift line, with snow guns on posts along its edge. Razor’s watches a second chairlift, and on a late October afternoon a flock of wild turkeys was feeding on the grass under the chairs. Valley looks up the mountain from the bottom, past a lift terminal. Vista covers the ropes course and net tower of the Summit Adventure Park, and Tubing looks over a lawn that held a large white marquee and picnic tables outside the snow season.
Winters here are cold enough for steady snowmaking without being severe. Averages for 2015 to 2024 put January highs at about 2°C (36°F) and lows near -6°C (21°F), February is only slightly milder, and nights stay below freezing from December into March. Natural snowfall averages about 84 centimeters (33 inches) a year, and snowmaking across the whole mountain makes up the rest. This is when the trail cams have the most going on, with snow guns running on cold evenings and floodlit runs after dark.
April brings highs near 14°C (58°F) and lows around 3°C (38°F) as the last machine-made snow melts off the trails. July is the warmest month, at about 28°C (83°F) by day and 18°C (64°F) at night, when the slopes are green and the Slopeside deck is open for lunch and dinner. October highs fall to about 17°C (62°F) with lows near 7°C (45°F), and the oaks and maples beside the trails turn orange, red and gold through the month.
The resort fills most of a visit. Winter means skiing, snowboarding, lessons at the Blue Mountain Learning Center and the snow tubing park, which the resort bills as the largest in the United States. In the warmer months the Summit Adventure Park at the top of the mountain runs a five-level high ropes course, a climbing wall, a free-fall belay and a 152-meter (500-foot) zipline from the top of its Adventure Tower, alongside a mountain bike park, scenic lift rides, disc golf, a campground and glamping tents.
The Appalachian Trail follows the ridge between Lehigh Gap and Wind Gap, and at Lehigh Gap near Palmerton the Lehigh Gap Nature Center looks after one side of the gap, with the D&L Trail running on to Bowmanstown. Beltzville State Park, about 9 kilometers (6 miles) to the northwest, has a swimming beach, boat rentals and the short Falls Trail. Jim Thorpe, 19 kilometers (12 miles) away, is the base for the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, the Switchback Trail and whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, about 44 kilometers (27 miles) to the southwest, has the Lookout Trail and its views over the ridges.

Yes. Every trail is lit, and the resort sells a night ticket alongside its 8-hour and 4-hour passes, so the slope cameras can show skiers well after dark in winter.
The resort’s stream player pauses itself after five minutes and waits for a click. Press play again and the picture returns to the live view. Each tab is a separate stream, so switching cameras starts a fresh one.
