About this webcam
The Mobile, Alabama Webcam looks southeast over downtown Mobile from Dauphin’s, a restaurant on the 34th floor of the Trustmark Building. The spired crown of the RSA Battle House Tower, the tallest building in Alabama, fills the left of the frame. Past it, the Mobile River runs between docks and industrial yards toward Mobile Bay, where container cranes stand at the river mouth on the horizon. Cargo ships move along the channel in the middle of the picture, and a raised highway curves across the downtown blocks below. On a clear day the view reaches the open water of the bay, while haze and low cloud can soften the far shore.
About Mobile, Alabama
The camera sits in the Trustmark Building at 107 St. Francis Street, a 34-story tower that opened in 1965 as the First National Bank Building. At 129 meters (424 feet), it was the tallest building in Alabama until 1986 and the tallest in Mobile until 2007. Dauphin’s took over space on the 34th floor that had been known since the late 1960s as the Bienville Club.
The tower that dominates the view is the RSA Battle House Tower at 11 North Water Street, which took the city record when it opened on May 11, 2007. It reaches 227 meters (745 feet) to the tip of its spire and 204 meters (670 feet) to the roof, across 35 floors of offices and hotel rooms. A Sikorsky S-61 helicopter lowered the spire into place in September 2006, and the lit crown can be seen from 48 kilometers (30 miles) away along Mobile Bay on a clear night.
French Canadian brothers Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville and Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville, founded Mobile upriver in 1702, and it served as the French colonial capital until 1711, when disease and flooding pushed the settlement down to its present site at the head of the bay. Mobile also lays claim to the oldest organized Carnival celebration in the United States. French Creole residents marked the festival from the first decade of the 18th century, and in 1830 the city became home to the first Carnival mystic society in the country to parade. The 2020 census counted 187,041 residents.

Things to Do Near Downtown Mobile
The riverfront in the view is a short walk from the Trustmark Building. GulfQuest, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico, opened on September 26, 2015 at 155 South Water Street, in a building designed to look like a ship heading into Mobile Bay. Fort Conde, close by, is a 1976 reconstruction, built for the national bicentennial, of the fort the French put up in 1723 and that was torn down in 1823 to make room for roads. The Exploreum science center, Cooper Riverside Park and the Alabama Cruise Terminal are all within walking distance.
Dauphin’s itself runs as a restaurant, piano bar and lounge with views on every side, so the camera’s view can be seen in person over dinner. Bienville Square, a downtown park, is a few minutes away on foot. Across the river, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park lies about 2.7 kilometers (1.7 miles) east of the Trustmark Building in a straight line, with the battleship USS Alabama on display.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the Mobile, Alabama Webcam located?
It is at Dauphin’s restaurant on the 34th floor of the Trustmark Building, 107 St. Francis Street, in downtown Mobile. The city lies in southwest Alabama, where the Mobile River flows into the head of Mobile Bay.
What can you see on the Mobile, Alabama Webcam?
The main camera faces southeast. The RSA Battle House Tower stands on the left, with the Mobile River behind it running south past docks, warehouses and moored ships to the container cranes at the river mouth. A raised highway sweeps across the middle of the frame, and downtown rooftops, a green lawn and office blocks fill the foreground. Two tabs add FOX10’s Admiral Hotel camera, looking over a busy divided highway toward the port cranes, and its Bankhead Tunnel camera, a street-level view of a tree-lined downtown avenue.
Does the webcam show the Port of Mobile or the cruise terminal?
It shows the port clearly. Warehouses and berthed ships line the river’s west bank south of downtown, container cranes stand where the river meets the bay, and cargo ships can pass through the middle of the picture. The Alabama Cruise Terminal is not a fixed subject of the view, but it sits on the same river, so a cruise ship arriving or leaving uses the channel the camera looks down.
Is this a Mobile traffic camera for I-10 or the Causeway?
No. The Dauphin’s camera is aimed at the skyline and the river, not at the Causeway or the Bayway. A raised highway curves through the frame and the Admiral Hotel tab watches a busy divided highway, but for road conditions on I-10, the Causeway and the Bayway, ALDOT’s own traffic cameras are the better source.
What is the weather like in Mobile, Alabama?
Hot and humid in summer, mild in winter and wet all year. July averages 32.7 C (90.9 F) by day and January 16.4 C (61.5 F), and Mobile ranks among the wettest cities in the country. Hurricane season runs from June through November.
