Zandvoort Webcam – Watch the Beach Near Amsterdam

The Zandvoort Webcam looks straight out to sea from high above the central beach of Zandvoort, a resort town on the North Sea coast 25 kilometers (16 miles) west of Amsterdam. Wide sand fills the lower part of the frame, with a street lamp, flagpoles and the signposts of the De Favauge beach access along the bottom edge, then the surf line and open water running out to the horizon. When the tide is out, a sheet of wet sand shines below the breakers and walkers cross it toward the water. The camera faces west, so the evening light falls across the sea, and the operator titles this stream for its sunsets. About Zandvoort

Zandvoort was a fishing village until the 19th century, when it turned to bathing guests and opened its first seaside resort in 1828. The railway reached the coast in 1881, and Zandvoort aan Zee station still stands about 400 meters (a quarter mile) from the beach at Boulevard De Favauge. The municipality had about 17,400 residents in 2025.

The tabs show how the seafront changes from the center to the north. The Boulevard De Favauge camera looks over a wide promenade with the big Zandvoort letters, lawns, a stairway decorated with a large mural, and a tall white high-rise on the right, with the beach and sea beyond. The Boulevard Barnaart camera, in the northern part of town, looks up the coast past a row of beach pavilions, with grassy dunes rising on the right. On a clear day the chimneys of the IJmuiden steelworks, roughly 11 kilometers (7 miles) to the north, show on the horizon. The skyline camera turns inland over red and grey rooftops to the wooded dunes behind the town.

Zandvoort is also a motor racing town. Circuit Zandvoort opened in 1948 in the dunes on the northern edge of town, and its current Grand Prix layout measures 4.259 kilometers (2.646 miles). Two corners are steeply banked: the Hugenholtzbocht at 19 degrees and the Arie Luyendijkbocht at 18 degrees. The Dutch Grand Prix returned to Formula One in 2021 under a deal that runs until the end of the 2026 season.

The North Sea keeps Zandvoort mild in winter and cool in summer. January days average about 7°C (45°F), with nights near 3°C (37°F). Spring warms slowly because the water does: April highs reach about 12°C (54°F), with lows around 6°C (43°F), while the sea is still close to 10°C (50°F). Autumn holds on to the summer warmth, and October highs of about 15°C (59°F) are common, with a sea temperature near 16°C (61°F).

July and August bring highs of 20 to 21°C (68 to 70°F) and nights of 15 to 16°C (59 to 61°F). The sea peaks at about 19 to 20°C (66 to 68°F) in August. Daylight varies a lot at 52 degrees north. Around the June solstice the sun sets at about 10 pm local time, far to the north-west, while in late December it goes down at about 4:30 pm, well to the south-west.

Things to Do Near Zandvoort

The beach is the main draw. You can walk north from the boulevard past the Barnaart pavilions toward Bloemendaal aan Zee, or head inland to Circuit Zandvoort at the edge of the dunes. Trains from Zandvoort aan Zee run to Haarlem, about 8 kilometers (5 miles) east, where the Frans Hals Museum and the Grote Markt make an easy half-day trip.

Zuid-Kennemerland National Park covers 3,800 hectares (9,400 acres) of dunes, woods and lakes between Zandvoort, Haarlem and IJmuiden. Founded in 1995, it is grazed by Highland cattle, Shetland ponies and Konik horses, fallow deer live in its woods, and a small herd of wisents, the European bison, has lived in a closed section of the park since 2007. The visitor center, De Kennemerduinen, is on the Zeeweg in Overveen, and the Vogelmeer is among the park’s lakes. South of town, the dune belt continues as the Amsterdam water supply dunes.
