The Kranjska Gora Ski Webcam looks up the lower slopes of the ski area at Kranjska Gora, a resort town on the Sava Dolinka river in northwest Slovenia. Kranjska Gora lies at 806 meters (2,645 feet) in the Upper Carniola region and had 1,488 residents in 2025. The municipality runs right up to the tripoint on Pec, where Slovenia, Austria and Italy meet, and it takes in the village of Ratece and the Koren Pass, known in German as the Wurzen Pass.

The ski area starts at 811 meters (2,661 feet) and tops out at 1,295 meters (4,249 feet), a vertical drop of 484 meters (1,588 feet) spread over 20 kilometers (12 miles) of runs and 125 hectares (310 acres) of terrain. Summer is mild, and July averages 24.4 C (76 F) by day and 10.8 C (51 F) at night, with about 235 hours of sunshine, the most of any month. It is also a wet valley. Ratece records about 1,590 millimeters (63 inches) of precipitation a year, and the wettest months are October and November, at 185 and 189 millimeters (7.3 and 7.4 inches). October highs average 13.6 C (56 F) with lows of 2.9 C (37 F). Snow can arrive that month, which averages 5 centimeters (2 inches), and November brings 27 centimeters (11 inches).

Things to Do Near Kranjska Gora

The resort lists 40 kilometers (25 miles) of cross-country trails, sledding and a snow park with a halfpipe. Nearby Planica is one of the great names in ski jumping: it is where jumpers first passed 100 meters (328 feet) in 1936 and 200 meters (656 feet) in 1994.

In summer the ski area runs a bike park and tubing, and the slopes become hiking ground. Lake Jasna, a pair of connected artificial lakes, lies 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) south of town. The Vrsic Pass climbs to 1,611 meters (5,285 feet), and the Russian Chapel on the pass was built in 1917 by Russian prisoners of war in memory of comrades who died building its road. Zelenci, a 54 hectare (133 acre) wetland reserve near Podkoren, is a 4.5 kilometer (2.8 mile) drive or a walk of about 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), and cycling route no. 1 runs there too. In Ratece, the Kajznk House, a restored 19th-century farmhouse, holds an ethnographic museum.
